- How do I fund my account?
Go to Fund My Account for details on how to fund your Account.
- Can I pay foreign currency into my account?
You can transfer Euro, UK Sterling, US Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Australian Dollars, Hong Kong Dollars and Singapore Dollars to your TD Waterhouse account using CHAPS (Clearing House Automatic Payments System). Please be aware that banks normally charge for this service. It is not possible for us to accept cheques. However, once the funds are in your account you can exchange UK Sterling into Euro, US Dollars, or Canadian Dollars.
- Can I transfer money between my TD Waterhouse Accounts?
You can move funds from one TD Waterhouse Account to another by telephone on 1 800 646 582 or online; once logged in go to My Accounts/Internal Transfers. The amount of cash that can be transferred per day will be limited to the available balance.
Can I make a cash transfers to a third party TD Waterhouse account?
You can transfer cash to a third party TD Waterhouse account by telephone on 1 800 646 582 or online; once logged in go to My Accounts/Internal Transfers. You will need to choose 'Other TDW Account' then key in the account number you are wishing to transfer cash to. - Can someone make a payment on my behalf?
We cannot accept third party payments into your account.
- What cards can I use to make payments?
We accept payments made using Visa Debit card. We are unable to accept Laser cards.
- When will the payments into my account be available?
I have funded my account by debit card, when will the funds be available?
If you have funded your account by debit card then the payment will be credited to your account straight away and will be available for trading and to settle purchases. For some withdrawal requests, we may request that the funds be returned to the card. If the payment is not reflected in your online trading limit then call us on 1 800 646 582 if you want to trade. The funds will be included in your cleared balances 5 business days after receipt and will only be available for internal transfer, FX or withdrawals at this time. However, you will start earning interest after 1 business day. To arrange a debit card refund please call us on 1 800 646 582.I have sent a standard bank transfer (BACS), when will the payment show in my account?
When you send a bank transfer (BACS) the funds will usually be allocated to your account within 3-6 business days, but this can take up to 10 business days. Please ensure that your account number is quoted at the beginning of the reference as this will help us to allocate the funds to your account quickly.I have sent a same day bank transfer (CHAPS), when will the payment show in my account?
When you send a same day bank transfer (CHAPS) the funds will then be allocated to your account, usually within 2 business days, but this can take up to 10 business days. Please ensure that your account number is quoted at the beginning of the reference as this will help us to allocate the funds to your account quickly. - Why do I need to enter my card security code and re-enter my address details when making a debit card payment?
We use this information to make sure that the card is genuine - part of our checks to protect you from card fraud.
- Why has my online debit card payment been declined?
Occasionally a debit card payment will not be authorised automatically by our system.
The possible reasons for this are:1. Only one payment can be made in the same day via the same channel (i.e. both phone or both web).
2. The value of the debit exceeds your debit cards ceiling limit.
You can make more than one payment each day however, please note any duplicate payments for the same value on the same day will be rejected.
- Why was my debit card payment not accepted?
To protect the security of your account, on some occasions we may not be able to gain authorisation from your bank automatically. If this happens, we ask you to call us on 1 800 646 582, so that we may ask you some additional security questions.
- Can I fund my account in different currencies?
Yes, you are now able to fund your account in the following currencies, GBP Sterling, Euros, Canadian Dollars and US Dollars.
- What cards can I use to make a payment?
We are able to accept the following types of debit card to fund your account:
Country of Issue Card Type Republic of Ireland Visa Debit Card Germany Giropay Netherlands Ideal Sweden Nordea Solo* * Please be aware that if you fund your account in Euros using a Nordea Solo Card issued in Sweden, you will be charged a fee to convert the funds from Swedish Krona to Euros
- How can I make a payment from an Irish Bank Account?
You can also make a payment by bank transfer. Please use the following details to set up a bank transfer:
